Many of these ’90s actors were favorites of ours growing up, but what happened to them all? You don’t have to wonder any longer because, years later, we’ve figured out what they’re up to!
Kel Mitchell
It’s hard to believe that someone as well-known as Ed would just vanish into thin air after appearing in ‘Good Burger’ and providing the voice of the Pink Panther. He was even rumored to have died, but he is still alive and well, dabbling in acting.
He’s had a few television appearances in which he’s brought back old characters, such as the role he played in ‘All That,’ and you might have seen him during the Super Bowl.
Melissa Joan Hart
Who didn’t enjoy watching ‘Sabrina, The Teenage Witch’ as a kid in the 1990s? Melissa Joan Hart, who plays the lead role, has been on our screens since we were children, and we couldn’t get enough of her!
She is now a spokesperson for the health brand ‘Nutrisystem,’ but she continues to act. She most recently starred in the TV show ‘Melissa and Joey,’ which was a huge success!
Lark Voorhies
For most teenagers growing up in the 1990s, ‘Saved By The Bell’ was a cult classic, and how could we forget Lisa Turtle, one of the main characters? Lark Voorhies continued to dabble in acting after the show ended, but she decided to focus on herself after it was revealed that she was suffering from lupus.
The actress was also rumored to be suffering from bipolar disorder, which she categorically denies, despite the fact that she has been absent from the public eye due to other medical issues.
Elizabeth Berkley
Lark Voorhies is well-known, but have you heard of her co-star on ‘Saved By The Bell,’ Elizabeth Berkley? This stunning actress also starred in the critically acclaimed film ‘Showgirls,’ which nearly everyone saw.
She’s not just an actress, though: she’s also a ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant! Following her acting career, she decided to write ‘Ask-Elizabeth,’ a book for teenage girls that should be a fun read.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas
If you know any teenage girls from the 1990s, you know how much Jonathan Taylor Thomas was adored by them. After starring in ‘Home Improvement,’ he became the ‘it’ boy of the 1990s, and pretty much every girl had a crush on him.
After the 2000s, however, he quickly faded from view. He prefers life outside of the film industry and has stated that he fondly remembers his time in the industry, but that it was not a defining moment in his life.
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen
Mary Kate and Ashley, the iconic twins of the twentieth century, took the world by storm. Following their appearance on ‘Full House,’ their career took off, with several well-known films released in quick succession, but they eventually faded into the background.
Now, they are concentrating on fashion and have launched their own brand of clothing. They are frequently spotted at various fashion shows and events, which shows that fashion is their true passion!
Jodie Sweetin
Jodie Sweetin, another ‘Full House’ star, was relying on the show as her main source of income. After ‘Full House’ ended, she didn’t have much luck in the entertainment industry, and she has since spoken about her struggles with drug abuse.
She’s been sober for several years and even competed on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ showing her progress. She started as a clinical logistics coordinator at a drug rehab center in Los Angeles and went on to earn her degree as a drug and alcohol counselor.
Andrea Barber
As Kimmy Gibbler, Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on the hit TV show “Full House,” struggled to find a good role in the film industry after the show ended.
She hasn’t acted since starring in the Netflix spin-off series ‘Fuller House.’ Instead, she chooses to spend her time with her family and running marathons, which has been a long-time passion of hers!
Jaleel White
Ask your parents about Jaleel White; if they’ve seen ‘Family Matters,’ they’ll be familiar with him. On the show, he played the hilarious Steve Urkel, for which he became well-known. Since then, he’s appeared in a number of TV shows as well as major films such as ‘Dreamgirls.’
“Fake it til you make it” and “Atlanta” are two other films in which you might have seen him, which just goes to show that he hasn’t had any trouble landing some major roles.
Rider Strong
Rider Strong may have been Cory’s best friend and co-star on ‘Boy Meets World,’ but he was the one who stole the hearts of all ’90s girls, not only with his adorable character, but also with his endearing personality.
Ever since, he’s appeared in a number of shows and films, including the spin-off ‘Girl Meets World.’ Outside of acting, Strong has an impressive academic background: he graduated from Columbia with a degree in English!
Tia and Tamera Mowry
Tia and Tamera Mowry of ‘Sister, Sister’ are another set of twins who have kept things interesting. The two gave the Olsen twins a run for their money, and they’ve since appeared on a number of Disney shows as well as their own reality show, ‘Tia and Tamera.’
Tamera became more involved in lifestyle and writing, while Tia chose to stick to TV (especially cooking shows). Tia Mowry-Hardrict continues to act, and she frequently collaborates on projects with her twin sister. Tamera Mowry-Housley has acted in a number of TV shows and was the host of “The Real” for 7 years.
Tahj Mowry
If you know Tia and Tamera, you’ve probably heard of their younger brother Mowry as well. ‘Full House’ cast him as Teddy, and the entire world fell in love with his endearing portrayal.
He also appeared on the TV show ‘Kim Possible,’ so you might recognize his voice. His acting career has progressed since then, with roles such as Tucker on the television series ‘Baby Daddy’.
Marla Sokoloff
If you grew up in the 1990s, you’re probably familiar with Marla Sokoloff’s face, as she was famously typecast as the “mean girl.” She portrayed that character in a number of TV shows and films, including ‘Full House’ and ‘The Babysitters Club.’
She, on the other hand, quickly faded away from the movie industry. In her previous jobs, Sokoloff preferred working in the lifestyle industry, and she now writes a blog in addition to spending time with her family.
Barry Watson
He began his career in the entertainment industry as one of the children on the show “7th Heaven.” Since then, Barry Watson has appeared in hit shows such as ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Samantha Who,’ and he has continued to act despite being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment.
Fortunately, the actor completed his treatment in 2002 and has since made a successful comeback. Watson and his girlfriend Natasha Gregson Wagner, the daughter of actress Natalie Wood, welcomed their first child in May 2012. They eventually married.
Alicia Silverstone
Who can forget Cher from the movie ‘Clueless’? The film is one of the most well-known cult classics of the 1990s, even among those who did not grow up during that decade! She’s appeared in a few films and TV shows since then, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
Fair enough, nothing will ever be able to top the success of “Clueless”! When asked how she felt about playing one of the most iconic characters of all time, Alicia Silverstone responded with, “Peace out!”
Alfonso Ribeiro
Did you even grow up in the 1990s if you haven’t seen “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?” Alfonso Riberio became well-known for his role as Carlton Banks on the show, which became a cult classic.
It was a long road for him, but he eventually made it, including winning “Dancing With The Stars.” Despite the fact that Ribeiro isn’t as well-known as Will Smith, he appears to be having a good time as a celebrity.
Tatyana Ali
Who could forget Ribeiro’s sister, Ashley Banks, from the show? Although she rose to prominence as a result of her role in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ she has since appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including ‘Key and Peele,’ a comedy series.
Nothing, however, will ever be able to surpass one of the most popular television shows of the 1990s, despite the fact that she appeared in a few larger roles such as ‘Jawbreaker.’
Will Smith
Talking about ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ would be meaningless if we didn’t mention Will Smith! After the show ended , he was instantly famous, and he continued to gain popularity as time went on.
With films like ‘Men in Black,’ the actor has established himself in the industry. He’s kept his movie streak going since then, and he’s created a legacy with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and their two children, Jaden and Willow.
Mackenzie Rosman
Mackenzie Rosman is best known for her role as Ruthie Camden in the television show “7th Heaven.” She began acting as a child when she was just a little girl. As a 6-year-old, imagine your face on the giant screen!
She also acted in “The Secret Life of an American Teenager” as she grew older, but then faded into the background. She hasn’t done much acting since then, but she did appear on Maxim, which surprised a lot of people!
Stacey Dash
On ‘Clueless,’ Cher was a big name, but how can we forget Stacey Dash, her best wing woman? Since then, the actress has appeared in a spin-off as Dionne as well as other shows such as ‘The Game.’
Her main career path has been acting, but she’s also dabbled in controversial politics. She was not only a Fox News correspondent, but she also backed Donald Trump in the recent election.
Erik von Detten
’90s girls were swooning in their seats because of this guy’s charming smolder! Because of his roles in films such as ‘The Princess Diaries’ and ‘Escape to Witch Mountain,’ he was a big hit on Disney Channel.
Ever since, he’s been much more in the background, almost unheard of. Although he occasionally appears on the red carpet, the actor has become much more reserved as an adult.
Andrew Keegan
Andrew Keegan was well-known for his “bad boy” roles in films such as “7th Heaven” and “10 Things I Hate About You.” He’s appeared in a few series since then, but his career path is by far the most unusual on this list: he and his wife founded their own religion!
According to the name Full Circle, the environment is described as an experimental one with the goal of elevating individuals. It has, however, been shut down since the year 2017.
James Van Der Beek
Because of his role on ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ this actor has a particularly memorable face. He had a particularly well-known scene that became an internet meme (unfortunately, it was a video of him crying!).
Following that, he started appearing on a few shows, including ‘One Tree Hill.’ As he’s gotten older, Van Der Beek has mostly stuck to acting, which is clearly his passion.
Danielle Fishel
Who can forget Danielle Fishel who starred as Cory’s girlfriend Topanga on ‘Boy Meets World’? She was stunning on ‘Dorm Daze,’ and she’s still stunning now, but she’s taken a step back from the entertainment industry since then.
She appeared on the Maxim magazine cover in 2013, but aside from that, she has been out of the spotlight since her teenage years. Now, Fishel is married and has 2 children of their own.
Ben Savage
The show ‘Boy Meets World’ would be incomplete without mentioning the show’s star, Ben Savage, who played Cory Matthews on the 1990s series. His adorable character on the show was a hit with the audience, and he even got his own spin-off show.
His work in the industry was limited to his role on ‘Boy Meets World,’ though he did make cameo appearances in a couple of small television shows during his time on the show.
Kirk Cameron
Kirk Cameron, who played a young heartthrob in ‘Growing Pains,’ was idolized by teenage girls. The actor was nominated for two Golden Globes for the role, but he has since turned his attention to his religion (Evangelism).
He teaches and trains Christians in the art of evangelism! Recently, he appeared in a faith-based Christmas film, which was rated as one of the worst films ever made by critics.
Candace Cameron
Candace Cameron has appeared on ABC’s “Make It or Break It” as well as “Dancing with the Stars.” She went on to host ‘The View’ and guest star on ‘Fuller House,’ continuing her career in the entertainment industry.
Besides appearing in films and television shows, she has also written several books since her marriage. Compassion International is a cause that Bure supports. Through this organization, the Bure family sponsors three children.
Mario Lopez
Who doesn’t want to be charmed by Mario Lopez’s smile? Kids in the 1990s loved him as A.C. Slater on ‘Saved By The Bell,’ and he went on to star in films and television shows like ‘Pacific Blue’ and ‘Nip/Tuck.’
As a result, he’s become more involved in hosting shows like ‘The X Factor.’ A fantastic judge, his appearance on the red carpet interviewing other celebrities was well received by the public.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar
“Saved by the Bell’s” leading man was certainly kept busy during his five years on the show, and we have to credit some of the show’s success to his seemingly perfect hair!
He went through a period where he didn’t act, and then he went on to star in shows like ‘NYPD Blue.’ It’s encouraging to see that he hasn’t given up acting entirely, and the full beard looks great on him.
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Anyone who grew up in the 1990s was familiar with the television series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ and anyone who didn’t live under a rock was familiar with its star, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
She went on to star in films like ‘The Grudge’ and ‘Cruel Intentions’ after the show ended. She also runs a children’s food crafting company, which she founded after her own children.
Mayim Bialik
Mayim Bialik’s face has been remembered since the show aired in the early 1990s, ‘Blossom.’ She decided to further her education after being the leading lady on ‘Blossom,’ and went to UCLA to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
Younger audiences may be more closely associated with her from her role as Dr. Amy on the hit television show ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ and we all adored her character!
Bug Hall
Bug Hall, the star of “The Little Rascals,” was known for his iconic hairdo, and the most bizarre part is that he has not changed his appearance much since then!
He’s appeared in a few TV shows, including ‘CSI,’ and he married his young love! The actor has a face that you’ll remember for a long time, but he’s changed up his hairstyle.
Freddie Prinze Jr.
People, he’s not just well-known for being Sarah Michelle Gellar’s husband! The actor was also in the film ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ which launched his acting career.
He has appeared in a number of television shows, but he prefers to spend time with his children. Freddie is a self-described stay-at-home dad, and we’re confident he’s just as good a father as he is an actor!
Tiffany Thiessen
Do you recall Kelly from ‘Saved by the Bell,’ Zach Morris’ girlfriend? Tiffani Thiessen is the woman in the photo, and she’s still as stunning as she was in the 1990s! She went on to host her own cooking show, which she hosted until 2017!
What we do know is that she’d make the best meals, and she announced in 2020 that she would also appear on the upcoming reboot of “Saved by the Bell.”
Dustin Diamond
We’ve mentioned a lot of characters from ‘Saved by the Bell,’ but this is the final one! Screech was played by Dustin Diamond, who gained a bad rep after the show because of a book he wrote about his experiences.
A lot of it, according to what I’ve read, was all lies. Indeed, he was arrested and sentenced to prison for stabbing someone, and he later admitted that his book had been written by a ghostwriter.
Dwayne Johnson
You’ve probably heard of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson unless you’ve been living under a rock. He transitioned from WWE to film and has appeared in several well-known films such as the ‘Fast & Furious’ and ‘Jumanji’ series.
The actor and producer have continued to enjoy lots of success in Hollywood, and he is the father of three daughters, two of whom are with his wife Lauren Hashian.
Kenan Thompson
Kenan Thompson was in ‘All That,’ but he went on to become the longest-serving cast member on ‘Saturday Night Live’! He seemed to enjoy his time on the show so much that he didn’t want to leave.
In addition, he has a self-titled sitcom that will air on NBC. The actor has been married to Christina Evangeline for a number of years and they are the parents of two children together.
Joey Lawrence
You have to admire Joey Lawrence, who appeared on ‘The Blossom’ and then went on to work on the show ‘Melissa & Joey’ for a total of 5 years after that.
Worse still, the actor was forced to file for bankruptcy shortly after, and he and his 15-year-old wife divorced in 2020. He loved the entertainment industry and even competed on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2019.
Jason Priestley
The actor returned to the roots of the 2019 ’90s show called BH90210,’ which was inspired by the iconic ‘Beverly Hills 90210.’ He’s also appeared in the Canadian series ‘Private Eyes,’ but he hasn’t done much acting outside of those roles.
The actor and Naomi Lowde-Priestly are happily married and have two children together. He’s best known for playing Matt Shade in the Canadian television series Private Eyes.
Macaulay Culkin
“Home Alone” was one of the most memorable television shows of the 1990s, and Macaulay Culkin starred as Kevin in the original film and its sequels, which were all critically acclaimed.
He appeared on a variety of other shows when he was younger, but his popularity waned after some odd behavior in his later years. After the excessive fame, he decided to take a break from the spotlight, but he did appear in a few shows in 2019.
Winona Ryder
With “Beetlejuice” and “Heathers,” as well as a few other films released in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Winona established herself as one of the most well-known actresses of the time period.
She decided to pursue acting in her adult years and had a brief relationship with Johnny Depp. You may recognize her from the Netflix series ‘Stranger Things,’ where she plays Joyce Byers.
Drew Barrymore
Without Drew Barrymore, the 1990s wouldn’t have been the same. She was a key player in a number of classic films, including ‘A Cinderella Story’ and ‘Scream.’ She’s even started her own production company, Flower Films, and has released several films under it since then.
She is a wonderful mother, regardless of whether she is a successful businesswoman, a movie star, or the host of her own talk show. What’s not to like about this?
Zachary Ty Bryan
All of the ‘90s kids were glued to their TV watching ‘Home Improvement,’ and most of the girls had a major crush on Zachary Ty Bryan. He later went on to become a producer, working behind rather than in front of the camera!
He directed the films “Heavy,” “Skin,” and a number of other projects. He’s been married since 2007 (sorry, ladies), and he and his wife are the parents of three wonderful children.
Devon Sawa
Devon Sawa, Casper the Ghost’s adorable sidekick, was a teen heartthrob in the 1990s! He went on to make a name for himself in Hollywood by starring in films and television shows such as ‘Little Giants’ and ‘SLC Punk!’
In the 1990s, Devon Sawa, Casper the Ghost’s adorable sidekick, was a teen heartthrob! He went on to star in films and television shows like ‘Little Giants’ and ‘SLC Punk!’ and made a name for himself in Hollywood.
Gaby Hoffmann
“Now and Then” was a 1990s sitcom in which the actress played Samantha, a character who was a coming-of-age drama that helped many of us grow up and become responsible adults!
She’s still gorgeous, and you may have seen her in a major role on the show ‘Transparent’ for nearly six years! She still looks stunning, and it’s incredible that she hasn’t lost the twinkle in her eyes!
