After Star Trek ended, Crosby continued her acting career, appearing in both movies and television shows. Denise Crosby played Chief of Security, Tasha Yar, in Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the following seasons, she starred as Yar’s child, half Romulan-Commander, Sela. Before starring in Star Trek as Naomi Wildman, Scarlett Pomers appeared in Michael Jackson’s music video, “Heal the World”. She was however very young at the time, aged 3 years old. It has been speculated that much of her success, well opportunity, arose from her time working with Jackson. She went on to earn the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Drama Series, ‘Supporting Young Actress’. Once her Star Trek career came to its end, she went on to appear in Judging Amy, Reba as well as a Ring of Endless Light.

Ashley Judd starred as Robin Lefler across many seasons, one of only a few to do this. A female, human 24th-century Starfleet officer, and engineer. After leaving Star Trek, she continued her acting career, making appearances in many films, some that even went on to receive critical acclaim and be box office successes. Some of these include: A Time to Kill, High Crimes, De-Lovely, Olympus Has Fallen, and A Dog’s Way Home. It was revealed in her 2011 memoir, “All That is Bitter and Sweet”, that she had some struggles in childhood all the way to adulthood.

Kim Cattrall appeared as a student of the great Captain Spock in “Star Trek.” Cattrall’s character, Vulcan Valeris, is actually the first Vulcan to graduate from the top of the class. In addition, Cattral also helped design her character’s headband, suggesting that some of Catrall’s true personality can be seen from the appearance of the character. After “Star Trek,” Catrall lived a life of sipping Cosmos on the popular TV show “Sex and the City.” This stunning 64-year-old is the winner of the 2002 Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress. She has also been nominated for 5 Emmy Awards, and her most recent role was in Filthy Rich.

Celeste Yarnall starred as Yeoman Martha Landon, the operations division security officer, ordered by Captain J.T Kirk. Star Trek was not the beginning of her career however, she was already fairly famous prior to the show. Afterward, she continued her career, even though she had already had a successful 56-year career. She, unfortunately, passed away in 2018, aged 74. She will be greatly missed.

Lwaxana Troi – Majel Barrett

Barrett is well known for her role as Lwaxana Troi, though she actually appeared first as Nurse Christine Chapel, in the original Star Trek Series. As Troi, she was a part of the domineering mother in Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. More interestingly, she was the second wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry! As a result, she is often jokingly referred to as “The First Lady of Star Trek”. Barrett, unfortunately, passed away at 76, with over 250 people attending her funeral.

Kirstie Alley played the role of Vulcan/Romulan Lieutenant Savik in the 1982 film “Star Trek II: “The Wrath of Khan”. After “Star Trek”, Allie starred in the long-running popular TV show “Cheers.” Alley has also appeared in many other TV shows, including Dancing with the Stars, Veronica’s Closet, and Hot in Cleveland. Due to her great contribution to the film, the comedian was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Would you believe that Kirstie Alley is 70 years old and the mother of two children? She looks very good for her age if we were to say so.

Seven of Nine – Jeri Ryan

Starring as “Seven of Nine” in Star Trek: Voyager, Jeri Ryan made the role her own. After the series came to it’s end, the beautiful actress sought after other television roles. Some of her roles include NCIS, Law & Order, and MacGyver. In 2007, Jeri married Christophe Émé and together they have a daughter- who is now 13 years old! Wow, that only makes us remember just how long it has been since the end of Star Trek.

Lt. Saavik – Robin Curtis

During “Star Trek III: Searching for Spock” and “Star Trek IV: The Voyage House”, Robin Curtis succeeded Kirstie Alley as the role Lieutenant Saavik. Curtis stayed in this industry for a short time before finally retiring in 1999. Curtis even tried real estate, becoming a residential real estate agent in New York in 2004. In the following year, she created and starred in a one-woman show, Not my Bra, You Don’t! -The Sexual Odyssey of a Forty-Nine Year Old Woman. It is quite interesting to see the direction people move from acting to continue their careers.

Hicks starred in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, as Dr. Gillian Taylor. She was excellent in this film, and it only served as the catalyst for a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. It is possible that she is best remembered for her role as Annie Camden in the popular tv show, 7th Heaven. She featured in many films and television series, and even at the age of 69, she remains prevalent in the industry.

Jolene Blalock starred as T’Pol, the Vulcan first officer on Star Trek: Enterprise. The American was a model actress and continued her acting career by appearing in other well-known television series, like Legend Of The Seeker, House, and CSI: Miami. Blalock is the beautiful actress wife of Michael Rapino, the CEO of Live Nation. Together, the lovely couple has three sons.

Having risen to fame by playing Varel in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”, Thompson performed very well during her time in the role. At the age of 63, she was involved in a TV controversy.  The role played by Susanna Thompson is known for the first appearance of same-sex kissing on American television. This controversial move has never had a negative impact on her career, and may have even helped her gain some top roles. Some of her roles include appearances in Timeless, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and High Noon.

Donahue guest-starred on the original Star Trek in 1967 as Commissioner Nancy Hedford, in the episode titled Metamorphosis. She is more well-known for her role as Betty Anderson on the 50s sitcom, Father Knows Best, however. She is now aged 84, which makes us realize how long ago she starred in Star Trek! She is married to Lou Genevrino and has four children.

Despite being most well-known for her role as Catwoman in the Batman television series and as Rhonda in popular sitcom, My Living Doll; she also appeared in Star Trek: The Original Second Series. Playing the role of Eleen, the wife of Akaar, her solitary appearance in Star Trek was quite enjoyable.

Yeoman J.M. Colt – Laurel Goodwin

Goodwin was the original Yeoman J.M. Colt, from the pilot of Star Trek: The Original Series. She played a female Starfleet enlisted crewman, who lived abroad in the mid 23rd century. Interestingly, her character was the sole survivor who was credited from the episode. Having begun her career as a child model, her big break came in the 1962 movie, Girls! Girls! Girls! It was in this film that she starred alongside Elvis Presley.

Vina – Susan Oliver

After playing Vina on Star Trek, Oliver went on to appear in other popular series like M*A*S*H, Gunsmoke, Days of Our Lives and Peyton Place. She has been highly-regarded as a result of these acting performances, even receiving a nomination for an award! However, Oliver simultaneously developed an interest in aviation, going on to obtain her pilot’s license as a result. Having been in two near-misses as a passenger in the past, the actress had to undergo hypnosis to combat her fear of flying. It is a little ironic, but impressive that she can overcome something like that! Sadly, she passed away in 1990 at the age of 58.

Jackson descends from a family of natural-born entertainers. Jackson’s mother, Kathleen Gilbert, was a staunch supporter of Jackson’s love of acting, singing and dancing. Consequently, they moved to L.A after her father’s death, where she was able to better peruse this career. Sherry Jackson landed her first film role at age seven, and has only risen to greater heights. Jackson now has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has starred in popular series, such as My Three Sons, Batman and The Wild Wild West.

Elaan of Troyius – France Nuyen

Since Star Trek, Nuyen went on to appear in series such as Gunsmoke, Magnum P.I. and Charlie’s Angels. Born to a Romani mother and a Vietnamese father, she has worked as a model previously,  as well as being a seamstress. Nuyen was discovered by a magazine photographer, eventually leading to her big break. Nuyen started acting in 1958 and has been married on two occasions in her life. Nuyen has also achieved a degree in psychology, going on to become a psychological counselor. She won the award for Woman of the Year in 1989 for her work helping abused women and children.

Nona – Nancy Kovack

Not only is Kovack stunningly beautiful, but she is also brainy. Having graduated at college at only 19, she has already impressed us. She has even worked in the past as a radio DJ! Kovack has won eight beauty pageants in the past, eventually getting discovered while at a wedding. This led to several TV gigs, where she eventually landed her big break. Kovack even received an Emmy nomination in 1969! Post-acting, Kovack enjoys retirement with her husband Zubin Mehta and her two children.

Drusilla – Lois Jewell

Despite the fact that Jewell’s role on Star Trek was fairly limited, she still went on to have an interesting career. After Star Trek she went on to appear in The Flying Nun. Before acting, she even had a stint as a model; worked in cosmetics/fashion around Europe and New York. Jewell only became an actress after the opportunity was brought to her after moving to California. After deciding that acting wasn’t her passion, she went on to work in business. Jewell passed away in 2014 aged 76.

Counselor Deanna Troi – Marina Sirtis

Sirtis was one of the few actresses who actually stayed in the industry for a while afterwards. When the show concluded, she reprised the role on four separate occasions in the films. At 31, she moved to L.A. from London in order to feature. Before Star Trek, she appeared in a few British films, many of which were somewhat controversial.

Before she pursued a career in acting, Bouchet modelled and featured in several TV commercials. She even appeared on the cover of many magazines! Eventually, the actress pursued a move to Italy in order to try many new projects. It was while she resided in Italy that she opened a production company and a fitness studio. It was also here that she met her love, marrying an Italian producer in 1974. They went on to have two sons together, but eventually went their separate ways in 2006.

Hartley began her acting career at the age of eight. Before taking on the role of Zarabeth in Star Trek, she appeared first in The Twilight Zone and Bonanza. Hartley has been active in Hollywood since, taking on roles in M*A*S*H and Little House on the Prairie. Hartley even won an Emmy for her role in The Incredible Hulk in 1979 and also founded the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, following the death of her father.

Maggie Thrett departed New York for pastures new in Hollywood. She was actually successful in her pursuit of an acting career, landing a role on Star Trek. After her stint there, she appeared in Cover Me Babe and Three in the Attic. After leaving the entertainment industry, she hasn’t looked back and now lives happily with her husband and three kids.

Craig was formerly a ballerina, before eventually moving from Ohio to L.A in order to pursue a career in dance. Without trying, Craig landed herself right in the midst of an acting career! Perhaps she is most well-known for her portrayal of Batgirl in ’60s ABC show, Batman. She received a positive reception of her performance from the New York Times and The Huffington Post, too. After a lengthy spell in the industry, she left and started work as a real estate broker. Sadly, she died of cancer at the age of 78.

Prior to appearing in Star Trek, the actress was crowned as Miss America in 1955. Meriwether also earned herself two Golden Globe nominations, an Emmy nomination for Barnaby Jones. Meriwether also played Catwoman in 1966. More recently, she appeared in All My Children, Desperate Housewives, The League, and Hawaii Five-O. Meriwether has two daughters, Lesley Aletter and Kyle Aletter-Oldham, who both also work as actresses.

After catching her big break, she went on to feature in over 20 films.

Besch debuted on-screen in The Secret Storm. It is rumored that she didn’t actually enjoy her role so much in Star Trek, explaining how she “tried to make it as Human as possible rather than trying to fit into something that already was because this character hadn’t existed before, and I didn’t really feel that I had to do that [….] It’s difficult to play a woman who has had a relationship with someone that everybody knows. So I tried to make it believable for myself. I fantasized about an early affair [between Kirk and Carol Marcus] and why it turned out the way it did. What kind of people we both became, how I got to be where I was, not just as a scientist but as a woman who wouldn’t have told Kirk for all those years that he had a son.”
