There is no market more competitive in the United States’ automobile industry than the SUV market. It is an ongoing process, but the big vehicles are now on the way to replacing minivans and wagons. Spacious and safe, they are considered to be the most practical vehicles one can purchase right now. They do not only offer plenty of space, but they come with advanced safety features as well. Nowadays, companies are trying to get a slice of the market with their different compact, subcompact, full-sized, crossover, and mid-sized models. The market is now rather saturated, but there are plenty of less known vehicles that are worth your hard-earned money. Let us take a look at them!
Lincoln Navigator
Do you need a domestic SUV? The Lincoln Navigator might just be what you are looking for! Unfortunately, it only sold less than 2,500 units. However, there might be hope yet since a new version has since become available. The Navigator is a good model and it really does deserve a better reputation. The press and consumers both loved it, especially the safety features that came with it, as a matter of fact. Only time will let us know if the new Navigator will have a better fate than the initial one. You will definitely find a great deal on the secondhand market, however.
Jeep Compass
Jeep definitely knows what it will take to create a good SUV. The brand has actually helped shape what we know now as the present-day SUV. The Jeep Compass has received plenty of great reception from both the press and the buyers. Unfortunately, the sales did not go so far in the United States. In fact, they received a 58% drop and sold only 8,500 copies back in the first quarter of 2017. There is still hope for it, however. A new Compass is now on its way to replace the Patriot and the initial model, so those digits will probably change soon. Nonetheless, make sure to be on the lookout for great deals soon.
Jeep Renegade Sport
In terms of appearance, it looks more rounded than their usual models but it nonetheless retains the classic Jeep profile. The price has since gone down in the hopes of attracting more customers, but the Renegade Sport might still not be worth the $19k price tag. Why? Well, the Jeep Renegade Sport does not possess features that are attractive to buyers. It doesn’t even have air conditioning and power mirrors, which should come with every car out there!
Mini Countryman
The Mini Countryman is a compact SUV that did not perform very well in the United States. A big factor in its underwhelming sales performance is the fact that a new generation has already replaced it. Its sales figure has been determined to be 2,672, an amount that will likely change for the better in the near future. Despite the projected increase, however, there is no way one can deny that it was unable to become a threat to similar models from other manufacturers.
Nissan Armada
People who are looking for a roomy SUV should consider getting a Nissan Armada. It has the ability to tow up to 8,500 pounds and an 8-person seating capacity. Aside from these, it also has a lot of neat features, a notable 390 hp engine, and full-size dimensions. The $46k is also reasonable. It’s a great buy if you do not mind the poor fuel economy!
Lexus LX
The Lexus LX is the result of a Land Cruiser and Lexus combination. This is an impressive beast of a vehicle equipped with Lexus trademark comfort as well as the best Toyota SUV features. At $89,880, it is an offroader that has the luxuries attributed with your regular land barge. It is not hard to believe that the LX only had 1,491 copies sold, a number lower than most of the vehicle in the same class. The high-end SUV market was not very large to begin with, after all. There is a good chance that this figure will remain more or less the same for the foreseeable future.
Nissan Murano
Look no further for the best value for your money. At below $30k, the Nissan Murano is a wonderful bargain. In fact, it might be the greatest proposition here, especially when you consider that it can compete with premium European manufacturers. This is the way to go for budget-minded SUV-hunters!
Range Rover
At first glance, you might be blown away by the fact that the Range Rover sold more than 5,500 units back in the Q1 of 2017! However, it actually did poorly in comparison to other vehicles in the same class. It is true that there are many pleasant qualities, but it was far too expensive for most people at the price of $85,650. If money is not an issue, its exterior and off-road performance will definitely impress you.
Kia Soul Base
The Kia Soul Base is indeed one of the cheaper crossovers you will find nowadays. The Soul has many features and a modern design. That is not all, however. The base model is also equipped with a 1.6 L engine, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port for music, and a 6-speed manual transmission. There are also other options you can get for an additional cost. As you can see, the Kia Soul is an excellent option for people in need of a smaller SUV.
Mazda CX-5
Interestingly, the Mazda CX-5 has sold 25,000 copies or less. This is a very low amount when you take into consideration that others have sold 100,000 copies. It remains unclear why there is so little interest in it. After all, the SUV has an appealing design, good build quality, and a decent performance. It was also praised by the press and the buyers alike. At the beginning of 2017, there had been a 3% boost, however. Although this gives us hope, we daresay that it still deserves a lot more attention!
Jaguar F-Pace
The Jaguar F-Pace is actually the brand’s first take on the SUV. Nonetheless, they were able to come out with a great vehicle that comes with awesome driving dynamics, powerful engines, and wonderful styling. Aside from that, it also boasts of a well-appointed dashboard, a comfy interior, and a 380 hp supercharged engine. With its starting price at $42k, this is one SUV that will be worth your hard-earned money!
Bentley Bentayga
It goes without saying that the Bentley Bentayga earned a spot on the list thanks to its low sales number. However, it is very easy to see how this came to go. It sold only 209 copies, but who can blame consumers when its starting price is $250,000? As you might guess, not many people can afford this model. Just keep in mind that it differs from the other items on the list because Bentley did not make it for the consumption of the everyday person.
Fiat 500X Pop
The Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500X share the same sort of engineering, though the exterior of the latter is more similar to the Fiat 500 hatchback. The AWD capability is not enough to distract from the rounded design and circular headlights. Nonetheless, the Fiat has lots of agility and it is a pleasure to drive. The only downside here is the design.
Cadillac Escalade
The Cadillac Escalade saw a sales decrease of 14% in 2016, and yet 4,300 sales still make for a pretty good performance in the United States’ full-sized SUV market. When you compare it to other whole premium SUVs, however, it is rather low. Cadillac might be one of the most well-established car companies in the country, but that has not stopped the Mercedes-Benz GLS from overtaking the Escalade.
Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition is considered one of the models to have started the SUV craze. You might think it is a little dated, but we will have you know that it continues to be relevant with its modernized design. It boasts of a 365 hp engine, 8-people seating, and modern construction. Moreover, the versatile vehicle has the ability to tow up to 9,200 pounds and cruise the highway without a problem.
Mazda CX-9
The Mazda CX-9 is yet another entry from the car manufacturer. It is doing pretty poorly in terms of sales, although it did experience a big sales increase at some point. In 2016, it saw a 478% boost in sales. This is a significant increase so many people thought it would make a breakthrough by the time the year ended. Unfortunately, it only ended selling 6,300 copies, which is only a fraction of the 62,00 copies sold by the Ford Explorer in the first quarter of the following year. Despite the low sales figures, it is certainly a good-looking model with great features. If you want to know what we think, it is still worth a look despite its terrible market performance!
Porsche Macan
Porsche shocked the motoring world when it entered the SUV market in the form of the Cayenne. Recently, they released the Macan, a smaller but very capable SUV. A mid-sized SUV, this sporty vehicle comes with great handling and impressive performance. It is not the most spacious car out there, but the premium features make up for it. You can avail of the 252 hp base model for $48,500.
Mazda CX-3
Do you consider yourself to be a practical person? If so, the Mazda CX-3 might just be the smaller SUV for you. The subcompact SUV has plenty to offer with its five-person seating and AWD capability. It is a bargain at the starting price of $19,960. The sleek car, unfortunately, saw a 24% decrease in sales during the first quarter of 2016. Around this time, it sold less than 3,200 units, which is a lot less than the 25,000 Jeep Renegades sold. Despite this, we maintain that the Mazda CX-3 is a solid car that is affordable at a great price point.
Dodge Journey SE
The Dodge Journey SE is one of the cheapest vehicles on the list, but it is also among the biggest. The most important to keep in mind here is that it is considered old-fashioned. You will easily see this in the design. Unlike the smooth and sleek appearance of modern SUVs, it favors an outdated boxy design. Additionally, it also offers a 4-speed auto when the others now offer 6 to 8-speed autos. It makes sense that it is available at a rather low price, but the unsatisfactory performance might not be worth the additional savings.
Acura MDX
Anyone who is on the market for a mid-sized SUV should definitely look at the Acura MDX. This is a great car that is worth the $45k price tag. Why? For starters, it has neat driving dynamics and a third row of seats. Aside from these features, it also offers plenty of space, a 290 hp engine, and an elegant appearance.
Ford Escape
The Ford Escape is a compact SUV that will exceed all of your expectations. Despite the size, it is equipped with a roomy cabin, a variety of engines and options, and premium features. The base model is equipped with a 168 hp four-cylinder engine, but you may also opt for a turbocharged 245 hp engine if so desired. With an engine that powerful, you can expect the Escape to tow up to 3,500 pounds. How is that for a compact SUV?
Kia Sportage
The compact SUV segment has over 20 offerings from different manufacturers, so it is no wonder how it became one of the most competitive segments out there. The field is largely dominated by Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, so the Kia Sportage is not exactly the most popular entry. At a competitive starting price of $23,200, it is definitely a steal with its great design and good reviews. Despite these, it only sold 15,400 copies and experienced a fall of 12%.
Ford Edge
The Ford Edge shows us that there are still plenty to admire in the American automobile industry. It is a 2017 crossover SUV model from Ford that offers the Sync 3 touchscreen, self-parking, driver’s assistance tech, and a keyless tailgate. It has been equipped with great features, so the price is perfectly appropriate. Needless to say, this SUV is on its way to dominating the global market.
Volkswagen Atlas
The Volkswagen Atlas is an SUV that had been a long time coming. This is a mid-sized SUV that will give you tons of comfort, excellent equipment, and a third row of seats. Aside from that, this bulky-looking vehicle comes with a 235 hp engine with front-wheel drive. If that doesn’t appeal to you, it is always possible to go for a 276 hp engine with all-wheel drive instead. The base model is available for $31k, which is appropriate for its features, quality, and space.
Nissan Juke S
We cannot deny the fact that the Nissan Juke S simply does not have the most conventional design. The funky design is a bit of a deviation from the usually stylish Nissan vehicles. If you can look past the exterior, you will be rewarded with a powerful crossover. One of the reasons the system is so good is because of the Nissan Motor Sport input. The newer model now uses CVT as a replacement for the manual transmission, but the previous model has aged very well.
Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen is still facing the toll of the 2015 controversy that has become known as Dieselgate. The sales figures of their models have taken quite the hit since then. The Tiguan is decent, though no one expected any less with its signature design and quality. Despite this, the SUV only managed to sell 10,000 copies across North America, which is only a fraction of the 101,000 sales made by the Nissan Rogue. Nonetheless, it is not a hopeless case. The Tiguan did experience a 10% increase in 2016, after all!
Hyundai Tucson SE
Can you believe that the Hyundai Tucson SE SUV goes on the market for below $24k? This smaller SUV can seat 5 people comfortably. Aside from that, it has autonomous emergency braking, rear parking cameras, Bluetooth connectivity, and a touchscreen infotainment system. It is, without a doubt, a bargain when you consider how affordable it is!
Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i
You can think of the Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i as the Forester’s little brother. This sporty SUV comes with responsive steering and sharp gearing. It is clear that the manufacturer designed this vehicle especially for the driver. That said, this model deserves far more success than it has attained thus far. Its design looks more aggressive than its big brother. If you do not mind, the current model will likely see a price drop with the release of the new model!
Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is a sporty SUV launched by the company in the hopes of regaining their place in the American vehicle market. This mid-sized SUV comes with a smooth interior, sleek exterior, and a 280 hp turbocharged engine. You can get this for $43k, but it might be worth it to hold out for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio together with its aggressive design and 590 hp engine.
Hyundai Sante Fe
Hyundai bears a similarity to Kia in the sense that it is working hard to get rid of the public’s assumption that its products are of low quality. Fortunately, Hyundai is succeeding in this endeavor. The Santa Fe is a great example of how well it is currently doing. This reasonably priced SUV is full of great features that make it a comfortable and enjoyable ride. If you want to turn it into a domestic car, we recommend getting the 7-seater version!
Mitsubishi Outlander
In the past few years, Mitsubishi has experienced a hard time getting customers even though the company was consistently releasing beautiful and high-quality cars. The Outlander is one of these cars. Although the redesign led to a 65% sales increase, it had not been enough to elevate it to great standards. During the first quarter of 2017, only 10,000 Outlanders were sold. This is simply not comparable to the segment leaders, which sold ten times more than that amount. Do note that despite its terrible performance, it is worth remembering that the Outlander is still a great mid-sized SUV!
Volkswagen Touareg
Despite the fact that Volkswagen used to be a decent seller, nowadays, the Volkswagen Touareg is one of the worst selling SUVs in the States. It’s just one of many Volkswagens that are still suffering from Dieselgate-induced sales flops. In the first quarter of 2017, the Touareg sold just 802 examples. As time goes on, it continues to downfall even though it’s a good car. Now that the Atlas is set to arrive, be on the lookout for some Touareg deals that are sure to happen.
Jeep Patriot Sport
The Jeep Patriot Sport is another creation by the car manufacturer that has almost left the figurative building. It comes with the boxy appearance that used to be the trademark look of the brand. The Jeep Compass is now on its way to replace the Compass Sport and the Patriot. In retrospect, this is not a bad idea at all since the Patriot Sport came with a subpar engine and hand-cranked windows. Although the brand still has loyal fans, Jeep is planning to run this model out soon to pave the way for new models.
Tesla Model X
Although the sales figures for the Tesla Model X definitely improved from 2,400 copies in 2016 to 4,300 copies in 2017, you cannot deny that it is not a car that most people consider buying. Alternative power simply has yet to convince the mainstream audience, even though this car comes with stellar performance, amazing equipment, incredible design, and zero emissions. It is a little unfair to hold it up to the standards set for regular cars. If you ask us, the Tesla Model X has already reached success!
Volvo XC60
We no longer need to explain that Volvo is a longstanding brand of reliable, safe, and high-quality cars, do we? Despite its reputation, the Volvo XC60 did not do so well in the United States. At the moment, the sales only stand at 3,736 units. If anything, this shows a little improvement from its performance in Q1 2016. However, it is still a mystery how it performed so badly in the market when it is a great car in all respects. We hope the new generation will leave a greater impact on the target audience since it will be a shame otherwise!
Lexus GX
The Lexus GX might just be one of the most fascinating vehicles out there. It combines luxury features with a sturdy chassis and an awe-inspiring engine. This is ultimately a luxury off-roader! For the price of $52,000, you will get a full-size SUV with a 301 hp V8 engine and a standard AWD. This is the best SUV for people who like to go on adventures in style!
Toyota Sequoia
The Sequoia is the biggest SUV in the repertoire of Toyota, but it still cannot hold its own against Chevrolet and Ford models. In Q1 of 2017, only 3,437 copies were sold. The model is now on its way to becoming obsolete, which is why many were surprised to discover its 11% growth during 2016. That said, the Sequoia is a great and capable SUV that is available at a rather low price point.
Mercedes-Benz G Class
The Mercedes-Benz G Class actually received so little attention that some followers might not even be aware of its existence. In the first part of 2017, only 1,005 copies had been sold in the United States. This signifies a tiny increase of only 3% from the previous year. It might have failed in the market, but it is still a highly capable SUV that will show you both luxury and great off-road performance. We are sure that its outdated design and unbelievably high price tag made people think twice about going for it.
Fiat 500X
Look no further than the Fiat 500X if you are on the lookout for a well-constructed and charming SUV with awesome qualities. Despite its assets, however, it is doing badly on the market. Only 1,966 copies have been sold thus far, which is a 50% sales drop from Q1 2016. Yikes. Strangely enough, its competitors share similar features but perform much better on the market!
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
The SUV market is currently dominated by what some call the soft SUVs so the Jeep Wrangler stands out like a sore thumb. This is one rugged vehicle that boasts of comfort, excellent drivability, and great off-road capabilities. These things make the vehicle incredible attractive. With a base price of below $29,000, it is certainly a steal!
Cadillac XT-5
Can you believe that something like the Cadillac XT-5 is on the market for only $40k? What a bargain! With its stylishness, assets, and abundant space, it is practically perfect. Aside from its appearance, you will also find a 310 hp engine and AWD capability under the hood. As you can see, it is extremely versatile.
Ford Flex
The Ford Flex has been boldly designed and we daresay that it is a very underrated car. It is a lifestyle SUV that has attracted only a few buyers. Through Q1 2017, there were only 6,100 copies sold. Many have attributed its loss in value to the release of the Ford Edge since it sold nearly 32,000 copies in the same time frame. The price difference between the two models is not very significant. If you want something with a little more personality, stick to the Ford Flex!
Chevrolet Trax LS
Anyone interested in small, capable SUVs might want to check out the Chevrolet Trax. It is basically a hatchback with AWD as a standard. When it entered the international market, it received new features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, rear parking camera, and keyless entry. With that said, it needs to do even better if it wants to become a bestselling car. At the moment, Chevrolet continues to sell it at a low for the sake of turnover.
Chevrolet Tahoe
The Chevrolet Tahoe has joined the ranks of the Ford Explorer and became a classic SUV. Among other things, it is equipped with a big body-on-frame, a 335 hp V8 engine, and amazing pulling power. It also offers lots of room and plenty of additional extras! You can be the proud owner of this SUV for below $50k.
Maserati Levante
Don’t be surprised to hear the Maserati get involved in the SUV craze! You can get the Levante for $74,000. This sporty and attractive SUV is a great alternative to the Audi Q7 and BMW X5. Under the hood, you will find a 345 or 424 hp engine. In our opinion, its style outweighs the lack of interior space!
Kia Sorrento
Hyundai and Kia keep offering very discounted options out there, a move that has lowered the value of their products. Kia decided to address this by offering the best warranty in the market. It was an effective move and more people started to notice their cars. The Kia Sorrento is a great example. It might come with a box-like design and low-quality interior finish, but it is a good mid-sized crossover nonetheless.
Honda CR-V
The Honda CR-V actually means Comfortable Recreational Vehicle. The Japanese car manufacturer definitely knew what it was doing, and the end result is this topnotch product. It offers great value, together with the HR-V. Not only that, but they also stirred up the competition. With the capacity to seat 5 adults and plenty of storage options, the CR-V happens to be one of the biggest Honda cars out there.
BMW X1
Are you fine with a small SUV that lacks interior space? If so, the BMW X1 might be what you are looking for. This compact SUV boasts of excellent road holding, a 228 hp turbocharged engine, and quick transmission. It is priced $34,500, which is rather expensive.
Subaru Forester 2.5i
It would be a shame if you overlook the Subaru Forester 2.5i because of its box-life styling! This is actually a great SUV available for below $24k. It already has Subaru’s Eyesight technology, a system that puts it at the forefront of safety. This is an extremely capable SUV that boasts of off-road credentials and AWD capability.
Buick Enclave
The Buick Enclave is great for bigger families since it can comfortably seat up to 8 passengers. The SUV is equipped with a lot of cabin room, AWD capability, and a 288 hp engine. Originally, the prices went all the way up to $38k, but there many other deals that offer it for as low as $26k. There is a good chance you will be able to get it for cheaper soon because of the 2017 sales drop and the new model coming out.
Mercedes-Benz GLA
The Mercedes GLA is a luxury SUV that is more affordable than other models in its class. Now that the sales are decreasing and slow, its price could probably go down some more. Anyway, this 5-seater vehicle is full of the reliability and luxury Mercedes is well-known for. You get the option to choose between a 208 and 375 hp engine with AWD, so you can rest assured that it is a great choice.
Acura RDX
The Acura RDX had an original MSRP of $35.6k, though this figure has since gone down after low sales numbers. This is a great SUV that boasts of lots of cargo space, low ownership costs, and a 279 hp V6 engine. There are both FWD and AWD capabilities as well. We are not at all surprised to discover that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration granted it a five stars rating!
Kia Sorento
With a base price of below $26k, the Kia Sorento might just be the mid-sized domestic SUV your family has been looking for. It can set seven people with its three rows of seat. It might not look like it, but did you know that things are now looking better for women even if a185 or 290 shoes gets both AWD and FWD. You should know that it actually runs very smoothly.
Audi Q3
Sure, the Audi Q3 is not actually the most impressive car in its class, but it is still worth a look. With a price tag of $32k, you can get your own copy with its premium interior and sleek design. Five people can fit inside comfortably, and there is a 200 hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We know that its smaller dimensions make the SUV easier to maneuver.
Infiniti QX30
The Infiniti QX30 is the victim of plummeting sales, which is the reason it makes for an affordable luxury SUV. Just so you know, it has a starting price of under $30k! It comes with a 208 hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, amazing fuel economy, and an EPA rating of 24/33 mpg city/highway. It also has both AWD and FWD capability!
GMC Terrain
The GMC Terrain may be doing better on the market these days, and yet the sales numbers remain low when compared to other SUVs in the class. With its $24,995, it is impressive that you will get to choose among three turbocharged engines. There is no doubt that this will be a great SUV for your family. Each unit comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G LTE data connection, and wi-fi hotspot capability.
Toyota Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser sure takes us back to the advent of the SUVs, huh? This SUV, with its standard FWD and rugger platform, does not fear speed bumps or thick mud. With an original starting price of $84,315, its low sales numbers have caused many good deals on it. It boasts of a 381 hp V8 engine that will let you tow a weight of over four tons with the right equipment. It might have a bad fuel economy, but it also does not require premium fuel.
Land Rover Range Rover Velar
Anyone who is looking to buy a luxury midsize SUV will likely be pleased by the Land Rover Range Rover. With a market price of $49,900, it has been experiencing declining sales ever since the new model’s production ramp-up. For a Land Rover, it delivers a poised and quiet ride. It comes with FWD capability and ground clearance of 8.4 inches. Let’s not forget that it can pass by 23.6 inches of water as well. It has a standard Land Rover Response system, which helps you tune the traction management systems to suit different conditions.
Audi Allroad
While Subaru dominates the American SUV market, its Subaru Outback accounts for nearly 90% of the sales. The 2018 Audi Allroad is barely responsible for 1%. However, the Audi Allroad is more luxurious than a Subaru, and with a starting price to match. The starting price for an Audi Allroad is $44,500. Just like all Audi vehicles, the Allroad has a plush interior with leather seating, a panoramic roof, and Audi’s standard MMI infotainment system. It has a 252 hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a standard Quatro AWD with a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Honda HR-V
Do you call yourself a practical person? If so, the Honda HR-V might be a good fit for you. We will have you know that this vehicle is considered the best subcompact of 2018. You will certainly be pleased by its roomy back seats and cargo space. It is pretty small, which makes it easy to maneuver into parking lots and other tight spaces. Sadly, these amazing features did not translate to a great performance on the market. As a matter of fact, this model experienced a 6.7% drop in sales the previous year. The upside to this is that you can great deals that will retail it for lower than its $19,670 starting price.
Subaru Outback
Although the Subaru Outback is generally ranked as a wagon, it has the necessary features all crossover SUVs should have. Among other things, it boasts of a five-person seating, standard AWD, and lots of cargo room. The 2019 model actually came with advanced safety features like lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Although its original price is $26,345, there is a very good chance that you can get it for cheaper. After all, it did suffer a 4.3% decrease in sales last year.

This seven-seater comes with three rows of seat, two of which you can fold to create 80 cubic feet of space for cargo. It is equipped with a user-friendly infotainment system as well as a V6 engine. It seems like these excellent qualities were not enough for mainstream audiences. Sales went down by 19.1% last year! Even though it has a $31,040 starting price, you can probably bargain it down with the dealer.
Lincoln MKC
We have another capable luxury compact SUV for you in the form of the Lincoln MKC. It offers a smooth and quiet ride. You will surely be comfortable with its great technology, sophisticated cabin, and great seating. It is more affordable than similar SUVs at $33,995. Despite this, it is possible to get it even cheaper. Its price has certainly been impacted by the 5.8% drop in its sales.
Buick Envision
It is true that the Buick Envision is not exactly sporty, but that does not necessarily mean it is a bad car! As a matter of fact, it is an excellent luxury compact SUV with user-friendly attributes and a roomy second row. While driving, you will appreciate its wonderful gas mileage and smooth ride. Sadly, all of these did not translate to great sales. However, you are in luck if you are on the market for one. It is already cheaper than similar vehicles at $31,995 but you can now get it for an even lower price!
Cadillac XT5
The Cadillac XT5 might be what you are looking for if you desire a midsize SUV with lots of space. It comes with numerous tech features, spacious rows of seats, and an elegant design. Under the hood, you will find a V6 engine that will guarantee a smooth ride. It also has a lower price tag than the segment average at $41,695. Thanks to the 7.9% sales drop last year, it will be easy to get it for even cheaper.
Fiat 500L
There is a good chance that you have not even heard of the Fiat 500L. That’s how bad it is doing on the market. One of the reasons it never became popular is that the interior is very cramped. The bigger one can hardly accommodate four adults. Moreover, its performance leaves something to be desired.
Infiniti QX70
The Infiniti QX79 is a midsize SUV that will appeal to luxury enthusiasts. Among other things, it has user-friendly infotainment technology and a powerful 325 hp V6 engine. Keep in mind that the cargo space leaves something to be desired. Its sales have dropped over the last year, which has caused the price to go down some more.
BMW X5
The BMW X5 might be considerably pricier than the other items on the list, but we think the price difference is reasonable. After all, you will not only get a stylish and comfortable interior, but you will also get a standard AWD and the option to go with a 335 or 456 hp engine. When you factor in the topnotch tech features, the $60,700 will not seem so bad. Nonetheless, you will get a better price now that its sales figures have dropped.
BMW X4
The BMW X4 might be the best choice for anyone looking for a sporty compact SUV. This luxury vehicle comes guarantees smooth handling with its powerful engines. If you do not mind the limited cargo space and cramped backseat, you will be able to enjoy the great fuel economy and user-friendly infotainment interface. The $50,000 starting price is pretty high, but the redesign has brought the prices of the original version down.
Chevrolet Suburban
With its $50,600 price tag, the Chevrolet Suburban is rather pricey. However, it might be worth it to you if you appreciate a high amount of cargo space and powerful engine choices. Just keep in mind that it will not be able to tow very heavy things. The sales figures have since decreased, so you will find awesome deals on the market nowadays!
Audi Q7
There are many good reasons why the Audi Q7 is considered to be among the best luxury midsize SUVs on the market. After all, it comes with user-friendly features, a posh interior, and multiple engine options. It delivers great performance and excellent fuel economy as well. True enough, it costs an arm and leg at $53,550. However, it definitely is a worthwhile investment to make.
Lexus NX
Even though the Lexus NX comes with numerous great qualities, it remains a little lacking when compared to similar SUVs. True enough, this spacious and comfortable vehicle has sweet gas mileage. However, it is not very sporty and the infotainment system is not the best. Nonetheless, this might be what luxury compact SUV fans are looking for. It has a standard engine of 235 hp. Its price starts at just under $36,000, which is a reasonable price in our opinion.
GMC Acadia
When you get the GMC Acadia, you can choose between a 193 hp 4-cylinder base engine and a 310 hp V6 engine. It’s a good option thanks to its wonderful gas mileage and competitive price. At $29,000, it is definitely going to be worth every single penny you pay for it.
