Although we say “a picture is worth a thousand words,” we should rethink the focus on photos in our lives. While they present a scenario that anyone within a few seconds can grasp, they have several shortcomings. You’re obviously not telling the entire story. Please refer to the following images. They start oddly, and you could think you figured it out until you realize that there’s more to them than you thought. We wish you a fun journey:
These strawberries look underripe, but they’re not
In the unlikely event that we came across the strawberries depicted below on a supermarket shelf, we would not give them a second thought. Because we’ve grown accustomed to seeing strawberries that are a deep, vibrant red, these appear to be significantly underripe compared to our prior knowledge.
Nevertheless, that is simply how they look. “A friend of mine planted steady strawberries and alpine strawberries near each other,” according to the person who shared this photo. The two species pollinated each other, resulting in this delightful and tasty combination.
If you’re ever feeling down, remember some horses can grow mustaches
At this point, it almost appears that this is too good to be true. We assumed the horse’s self-adhesive fake mustache had been applied by someone else after seeing it. This horse’s breed, known as the Gypsy Vanner, is renowned for its ability to grow gentlemanly mustaches, and it turns out that this particular horse is no exception.
It is one of the most amusing aspects of this picture that the subject is, in fact, a mare! Nobody else has ever wondered what it’s like to have a mustache, and you’re not alone in your curiosity. The operation was intrigued, so they touched it and commented on how soft it was.
The seed is strong
It was not surprising that children looked exactly like their parents, such as children with the same nose as their father or children with the same eyes as their mother. However, we’ve never heard of anyone with the same gap between their brows as their great-grandparents, which is fascinating.
This woman showed the uncanny similarity between her grandfather, who had the previously mentioned eyebrow gap, and herself using a side-by-side collage. And the seed has a stronghold on it because her father has the same gap as her.
Ninja mode: activated
When we first saw this picture, all we could think about was “what a cute kitty,” which is what we always think about when we see a cat picture on the internet. When we scrolled down to read the comments, however, we realized what was wrong.
Though you may think you’re looking at a white cat and its shadow, the image actually contains two sluts – #mindblown. The black cat is in ninja mode at the time, and she manages to serve as the white cat’s shadow flawlessly.
Orangeception
The science fiction film Inception introduced the world to the concept of a dream for the first time. Mother Nature must have noticed and said, “Hold my drink,” because the orange inside resulted from this.
It’s not uncommon to find a small orange growing inside a larger orange in navel oranges, but they’re usually not as mature as the one this lucky person discovered. Take a look at that teeny-tiny creature!
Before and after
This isn’t a comparison of the most effective hand creams on the market. This is a comparison of what happens in your body after being stung by a bee. The left hand of this person appears normal, but the right hand appears swollen.
We hope that they receive medical care and that the incident did not cause any harm. While we’re on the subject, Shrek’s right hand reminds us of when he inflated a frog to give it to Fiona as a balloon.
Nature is amazing
We never saw an empty honeycomb before, so when we first saw the picture below, we picked it up for the home 3D printing project. But, after all, this is a 3D printing version of nature, so we were technically not totally wrong.
This looks like a newly built wave that was abandoned shortly after construction. The bees probably found this place and immediately began to work, but then found a more convenient location in the vicinity and decided to move in search of a better life. This happens regularly.
What an interesting mural
At first glance, you may believe that this is simply a painting of pandas. “How adorably cute!” However, you begin to notice some unusual details. Do those pandas have sombreros on their heads? Is one of them munching on a taco? Do the bamboos have chilies growing on them?
And why is there a panda with a mustache and a vihuela in the right corner? After that, we were explained. This was formerly a Chinese restaurant, and when the new owners decided to convert it to a Mexican restaurant, they simply changed the mural.
What happens when you drop a skittle in a glass of water
We learn what happens when you drop a skittle in a glass of water in this episode of “Thing I Never Knew I Needed to Know.” The experiment was carried out by the person who shared this photo online, and it initially went as planned…
The skittle dispersed in water, but the S remained afloat even though the rest of the candy shell had dissolved. The S in skittles, it turns out, is printed with edible ink that does not dissolve in water.
An egg without a shell
We were years old when we discovered that chickens could lay eggs without a shell in certain circumstances. It’s all thanks to this person, who said their brother discovered a frozen egg in his chicken coop without a shell.
When laying eggs for the first time, some young chickens will lay shell-less eggs until their systems adjust. In certain cases, the lack of shells in the eggs is due to a calcium deficiency in the hens. In any case, even eggs without a shell retain that fragile membrane, so they’re frequently found intact, as in the photo above.
The perfect camouflage
We can only imagine how surprised this person was when they realized their cellphone case matched the 1982 school library desk perfectly. It’s as if you’re thinking, “What are the chances?” However, it turns out that the chances are better than we previously thought.
The pattern we see there isn’t the same as the one on the wood. Companies that make laminate wood tiles frequently repeat a design over many laminate wood items, such as flooring, tabletops, bookshelves, library desks, and cellphone cases.
That’s one way to customize your glasses
If you put your transition lenses in something like a mesh pocket, as this person did, and then go outside on a sunny day, it makes sense that the lens will end up with a unique and temporary pattern. We had never considered this before.
The length of time that pattern lasted has piqued our interest, and while we’re on the subject of transition lenses, we’re curious as to why car windows do not use the same technology.
The same, but different
We see this type of photo all the time on the internet – you know, where someone is out running errands, commuting to work, or boarding a plane, and then they run into their doppelganger, which is often dressed in a very similar manner.
Someone shared this amazing photo of the sky on the day that it sounded divided in half. So, although we know a fascinating scientific explanation about pressure and temperature differences and things, we want to work with fun theories.
Why does it look like the sky is split in half?
These two strangers met at a wedding, and not only do they look eerily similar, but they are also dressed in the same outfit as one another! On the other hand, the amusing detail is that this is a case of “Mario eats mushrooms.”
First and foremost, there are aliens. But it also reminds us of every sibling fight we’ve ever had, in which one of our siblings drew an imaginary line on the floor and declared, “This side is mine, this side is yours – do not cross it!”
The world’s worst superpower
Having the ability to grow hair on our fingers would probably be one of our superpowers if we played “the world’s worst superpower.” But that’s exactly what happened to this person 16 years ago after a skin graft.
A skin graft is a medical procedure in which skin is transplanted from one part of the body to another, most commonly after a patient has lost skin due to injuries or burns. This person revealed that they deal with hair and skin that sweats “like crazy.”
Here’s something you don’t see every day
We came across this photo of a mosquito trying to sucking blood from a bean, which you don’t see very often in nature. What’s more, here’s something fascinating to consider: mosquitoes don’t only feed on blood.
This isn’t a “rare picture of a vegan mosquito,” as one internet user joked. Male and female mosquitoes eat honeydew, plant juices, and nectar, and female mosquitoes only feed on blood when they’re about to lay eggs. So the mosquito in the photo is simply sipping the juice from a bean.
This is actually really smart
The picture below contains two intriguing and unusual features. First, for some reason, the soap dispenser appears to be in the middle of the mirror. Second, that sink doesn’t have any faucet handles.
Foot-pedals, on the other hand, appear to be used for water control. We think that’s a great idea because it keeps you from touching the filthy faucet handles and probably saves more water than automatic sensor faucets. However, we’re still perplexed by the soap dispenser.
Not what it looks like
We miss traveling so much that we wished we could be there, half soaking up the sun, half sinking into the cool ocean water. But, unfortunately, we didn’t realize what we were looking at until we realized what we were looking at.
Someone’s broken car antenna, not a half-sunk boat! They photographed it to send to the collision center, and it wasn’t until days later that they realized what a cool illusion they had captured.
Let it go, let it go
For all we know, Elsa of Arendelle may have gotten a little carried away with her powers and wandered around “let it go” until she accidentally turned someone’s home into an ice house. But we know better. However, this was not Elsa’s creation.
While we are in awe of how hauntingly beautiful the aftermath of a blizzard in Ohio looks, we hope they were able to quickly clear all that weight from the roof – that can’t be good for the house’s structure.
This has to be some sort of record
We were impressed when we first saw the image below, thinking the person holding the knife was slicing a large mozzarella ball. But that’s not cheese; what that white thing is has blown us away.
The original poster discovered a massive puffball mushroom in the woods. We had no idea mushrooms could grow that large, and we’re curious whether this is a new record. Furthermore, we wish we could take a bite out of it.
And there you have it
It connects us to so many people – including people who are willing to test things that you have always wanted to investigate but who didn’t have time or patience to do that – one of our favorite things about the Internet.
What happens, for example, if you completely “color” an Etch A Sketch toy? Someone did it! With a mini Etch A Sketch, it took them about an hour and a half, and they generously shared the photo online so that the rest of us could see inside as well. Thank you, anonymous internet stranger!
Gotta hand it to them
We have to hand it to the British; they know how to form a well-organized line. Unfortunately, the event’s organizers quickly ran out of queue barriers, but fortunately, they dealt with Britons who knew exactly what to do.
Despite the lack of queue barriers, the line continued to grow, with everyone following the order of arrival. We’ve been in situations where chaos reigned even with queue barriers in place, and this photo makes us want to relocate to the United Kingdom.
A unique campus
This seems to be a photo taken of a typical shopping mall at first glance, but we’re not dealing with ordinary photographs here. Notice the photo of a proud graduating student in the center of the shot, as well as the campus directory?
According to the person who shared this image on social media, their college used to be a shopping mall, so it must be a unique campus. Of course, they have more escalators than most educational institutions, but it’s inspiring to see abandoned buildings transformed into something useful.
Four different seasons in one picture
According to the photographer, their backyard appears to be in four different seasons simultaneously, which is a pretty cool effect. But, like so much in life (sorry, are we getting too real?), this is just an illusion.
The window’s design gives the impression that we’re looking at four different moments in time, and the fact that we can’t see the sky behind most of the three adds to the illusion. They also have some trees that change color and others that don’t, and all of these elements were beautifully combined.
No paranormal activity here
We’ve all got someone in our lives who wants to believe. What do you believe in? In any situation. They’d immediately believe there was some paranormal activity going on if we showed them the photo below without any context and cropped it, so the energy drink wasn’t as visible.
They’d think the pattern on the table was some kind of magical being attempting to communicate with us when it’s just the reflection of the shiny letters on the can. This is, however, a free country, and they are free to believe and do whatever they want, including drinking from magic energy drink cans.
Hammer time
We believe it is great that virtually any product you might want to buy has so many different ranges of prices available – in this way, you can always find what you need and keep within your budget.
However, indeed, certain of the more affordable items are not produced with priority quality. For example, look at the hammer’s sad state. It was probably a tool of low quality with a high-quality nail.
More than meets the eye
This could appear to have been damaged by fire, but that’s quite the opposite – it’s more than it meets the eye. In fact, this wood side was treated by fire in a traditional wood preservation method called yakisugi.
The method entails charring the wood’s surface while avoiding actually combusting it. As a result, the material becomes more durable and even water-resistant when done correctly. When done incorrectly, we’re guessing it turns into… charcoal?
This is how cold it gets in Iowa
We thought it’s a mold growing at somebody’s door, and when we learned that it was actually frost, we were dumbfounded. That’s right, the place that this person lives in is so cold, they have frost on their front door hinges inside.
The photo’s uploader lives in Iowa, where the temperature feels like it’s -60 degrees Fahrenheit. We could never imagine living in such a frigid environment. But, we’ll make some hot cocoa with marshmallows just because the thought of it makes us want to.
That’s one cool-looking fire pit
Please pardon the pun, but we saw an opportunity here and couldn’t pass it up – we dug this fire pit out of a 4000-pound excavating bucket. Did you manage to get it? Did you?
Nonetheless, this seemed to be a fun DIY at first, but the person behind it later revealed that the total cost of putting the toy together was over $3,000. Thanks, but no thanks. We’ll continue to use our regular fire pit – oh, wait, we don’t have one.
That moment when everything falls into place
The following is an example of one of those moments in everyday life when everything falls into place and something beautiful and unexpected occurs. First and foremost, the sunlight streaming in through the window transformed this person’s fish tank into a prism…
In the kitchen, a brilliant rainbow appeared out of nowhere. But that’s not all there is to it. Even though the colors matched perfectly to the stove knobs, they were much more enjoyable than they had been previously, and we were tempted to paint the knobs on our stove.
A tree reinforced with concrete
It’s common to imagine one of two scenarios when we hear the words “tree” and “concrete.” The first is a tree being cut down so that a sidewalk can be constructed, and the other is a huge and destructive tree with firm roots growing too large for the sidewalk and destroying the cement around it.
The picture above is unusual in this context because the cement has been used to reinforce the tree in the foreground of the portrait. The person who completed the work was meticulous enough to shape the concrete to blend seamlessly with the tree trunk.
A glitch on the matrix
People usually like to believe that they are one-of-a-kinda – that their appearance, thoughts, and actions are unique. However, the truth is that there are 7 billion people on the planet, and we will look, think, and act in ways that are very similar to a lot of them.
Take, for example, these three gentlemen who are taking a train nap. They all have the same appearance, and they all decided that now would be a good time to nap. Or, you know, it could just be a matrix glitch.
This looks like a bad sign, but it’s not
We would be hesitant to eat their food if you order takeout and the restaurant packs your meal and then adds a roll of toilet paper. Being given a roll of TP by a restaurant would be a bad sign at any other time in history.
Even so, because this occurred during the Great TP Shortage of 2020, what this Korean taco restaurant did was an act of kindness. So we’d definitely recommend them and order from them again.
Confusing keypad is confusing
While this keypad appears to be broken due to the random order of the numbers, this is actually done on purpose as a security measure. After each use, the numbers are randomly generated, ensuring that the person pursuing you has no chance of guessing your password based on your hand movements.
However, this creates an issue. Many people remember their PINs solely through muscle memory, which means that many people will be locked out due to this confusing keypad.
Who knew you could do that?
If you were a child of the 1980s or 1990s, you might recall the tile-matching video game Tetris. But, to be honest, the photo below made us want to re-play it. Doesn’t this resemble the descending pieces onto the playing field?
This drawer appears to be defective, but it is actually a clever solution for a cabinet that shares space with a pipe. By customizing the drawer in this manner, you ensure that no space is wasted – and we despise wasted space.
A snake playing snake
We’re used to seeing adorable photos of adorable pets doing adorable things, but this is a first for us. There are no cats or dogs in the image below; instead, we’re looking at a cute pet snake. We could never have imagined a pet snake is adorable, but this one did.
Look at how he (yes, the OP stated that he is a he) follows the pattern on the couch. That’s essentially a snake-playing snake, but he’s already been defeated. Buddy, you’ll have better luck next time!
The yin and yang of eggs
A picture can sometimes conceal a fascinating story or provide us with an opportunity to learn something new and exciting. But, in some cases, a photograph is all that exists, and this is one of them.
We thought we’d be learning about eggs when we first saw this image, perhaps about how some rare chicken species lay eggs with clear yolks and yellow whites. But, no, this was done by accident when the yolk cracked, and the heat caused a bubble beneath the white. But it’s still cool.
Improvising your way to a better community
The person who shared this on social media explained that their town’s library is currently undergoing renovations, so they’re using a makeshift library set up in an old grocery store in the meantime. That’s a fantastic use of space, and it’s also…
We admire how they recognized an opportunity and seized it, first, with the product display racks that double as bookshelves, and second, with the large sign in the photo. The B from the “bread” sign was simply removed, and it is now a “read” sign.
Here, kitty kitty
Anyone who has ever owned a cat knows how much they despise going to the vet and how much they enjoy hiding in dark places. So when this veterinary clinic needed to make their feline patients feel better, they knew exactly what to do.
They placed an empty cabinet in the exam room with only one purpose: to serve as a hiding place for cats who are not being examined. That’s very thoughtful, though we’re sure the ones being examined are also running there.
The machine we never knew we needed
Now, this goes into the category of “genius ideas that every store in the same industry should apply as well.” Again, this is a machine we didn’t realize we needed, but we’re curious why it isn’t more widely used after seeing it.
The scanner shows you a video of what the fireworks look like when it explodes when you scan the barcode of any fireworks in this store. Very cool, and they get extra machine name points – cat scan.
A very comfortable nest
This fluffy donut-like thing was discovered in someone’s garden, and they made an interesting observation about it. Do you see the white stuff above the nest? We thought it was cotton at first, but it was apparently dog hair.
According to the person who posted the photo online, they have two white dogs that are extremely fluffy, and the local birds have apparently been using the dogs’ hair to decorate their nests.
The perfect camouflage
Although we know that some animals have mastered the art of camouflage and can blend in with their surroundings to avoid predators, this is the first time we’ve seen a camouflaging corn chip.
To be honest, it took us a moment to notice there was even a nacho chip on that countertop because it is so well concealed in plain sight. It’s attempting to evade its predator – snacky humans – and, while it succeeded admirably, it’s still going to get dipped in guacamole.
Giving people in the supermarket a little heart attack
In 2020, we acclimated ourselves to walk around with a mask that spans half our face. But clearly, this guy tries to make things exciting by causing customers a mild heart attack in the store.
As it turns out, he’s a special effects artist who had some fun creating a customized, ultra-realistic face mask, and we’re sure children were staring, and adults were doing less-than-subtle double-takes. Tip – if you’re still unsure where the mask begins, take a look at the line beneath these glasses.
An out of body experience
While it appears as though someone scared the bejesus out of the peacock on the floor and his soul flew away for a brief moment, what we’re actually looking at is a photo of an albino peacock flying over a regular one.
Peacocks are one of the most beautiful animals on the planet, and we find it fascinating that they’re still mesmerizing even when they don’t have their famous colors. Those wings are incredible! That tail, man!
Staring at this photo gave us a headache
We spent a long time looking at the collage below, figuring out what was going on and the connection between those four images when we realized it wasn’t a “collage” at all.
This is only one image, and our brain is completely befuddled right now. What happened was that the person who took this picture was in the right place at the right time, which resulted in us getting a little headache.
Now that’s commitment
The background of some news broadcasts will feature scenes from the city in which they are broadcasting, but this Korean channel has chosen to take a more… analogical approach to the way they present their news stories.
Rather than using a green screen, they simply filmed on the top of a skyscraper, and we can only imagine two things: first, the sound guy must have had a difficult time, and second, those sheets of paper had better be taped to that desk.
The happiest-looking giant wolfdog ever
Don’t the proportions in the image below appear to be off? Even though the woman in the photo is 5′ 4″ tall, she appears to be dwarfed compared to the wolfdog she’s posing with. Look at how big those paws are!
By the way, the wolfdog’s name is Yuki, and he is giving us mixed feelings. On the one hand, we want to ride this beast into battle, but on the other hand, that smile and those happy eyes make us want to call them a good doggo and give them belly rubs.
They don’t make them like that anymore
We used to roll our eyes when people said things like, “they don’t make them like that anymore,” but after seeing this, we have to admit that they do. Take a look at the mosaic floor down below. It was discovered beneath a vineyard in northern Italy and was constructed in ancient Rome!
Our jaws dropped when we saw how well preserved that beautiful floor is, especially considering that it’s been there for hundreds of years! Unfortunately, our kitchen floor is only a few years old, but it appears to be in worse condition.
Not an intergalactic volcano
The picture above appears to be something straight out of a science fiction film, where they’re showing a volcano-strewn planet in a faraway galaxy. Still, it’s actually located right here on Earth, in Finland, to be exact.
That’s not smoke billowing from raging volcanoes; in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Those white tall things are just snow and frost covering several icy trees, and the temperature there in the winter is around -40 degrees.
Big fish, tiny babies
We couldn’t believe the size of the fish below in comparison to the diver. Still, upon further investigation, we discovered that this is not the result of an image-editing app – ocean sunfish are, in fact, enormous.
They can grow to be 5.9 feet long and weigh up to 2,200 pounds. The fact that their babies are so tiny only adds to their accomplishment! Consider how small they are in comparison to the tip of a human finger. Ocean sunfish, you’ve done a fantastic job of growing!
Someone lost their coin purse
Think about it: you can lose something today, and a person who hasn’t even been born yet will find it decades later. Isn’t that strange? This appears to be what has occurred in this instance.
This individual discovered a coin purse – or what was left of a coin purse – that had been lost probably more than a hundred years before his discovery. However, it still had three coins “inside” it, one from 1897, one from 1899, and one from 1904. One of the coins was from 1897, one from 1899, and one from 1904.
This is what a sunset looks like from space
We were only a few years old when we first discovered what a sunset looks like from space, and we can’t believe we’d never seen anything like this before. Isn’t our planet breathtakingly beautiful, to say the least?
Isn’t it also insane to believe that the first photos of the Earth taken from space were taken only a few years ago? On October 24th, 1946, they were captured by a rocket launched from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.
It’s all in the details
This piece of information was shared on Reddit, and it made us appreciate Michelangelo’s work even more than we already did. We humans, it turns out, have a tiny muscle in our forearms that is nearly invisible unless we lift our pinky.
Moses by Michelangelo has his right pinky lifted slightly, and the muscle is visible in the sculpture! We lifted our pinkies to check for that muscle after reading about it, and we’re sure you’re doing the same.
We had to do a double-take
If the cat in the photo below had his eyes closed, we would have probably scrolled right past it without a second thought. “What a strange Elvis statue,” we would have thought of the very least.
Although the black cat sitting on its head looks like Elvis Presley’s hair and sideburn, it’s actually a garden ornament shaped like a moai, the famous monolithic human figure on Easter Island. Elvis Purr-esley, or should we say… Elvis Purr-esley?
A bountiful winter
No, this isn’t The Wizard of Oz’s yellow brick road. Instead, a train car carrying corn leaked, and the track has now turned into a giant feeder for the local squirrels, who will have the easiest and most abundant winter of their lives.
In addition, if this had occurred during the summer when the train track was scorching, we wonder if all of the corn would have been transformed into popcorn. We’ll never know, I suppose.
The most curious-looking brick wall
This brick wall appears to have been built by someone having a little too much fun at work, but a prank-loving bricklayer did not build it. According to the person who shared it on social media, this type of wall is not uncommon in England.
Contrary to popular belief, they explained that this type of wall requires fewer bricks than a regular, straight wall. That’s because a straight wall requires at least two layers of bricks to be stable, whereas a wavy wall only requires one layer due to the added arch support.
An un-shredded hash brown potato
We’re always suspicious when people post photos like this online, as they’re usually showing something gross about their packaged food. Fortunately, this is not the case in this instance.
This person discovered a full potato inside a bag of shredded hash brown potatoes, which is a good sign. This indicates that the company uses whole potatoes rather than scraps from another industry or some strange potato-like substitute.
What happens when we live nature alone
It’s a little depressing because it shows how much better nature could be if we humans just took a step back and let nature do what she does best. However, the person who posted this on the internet happened to be in a touristy area at the time…
Despite all these, due to travel restrictions in 2020, the area was virtually devoid of humans. Consider the distinction between human bamboos and bamboos that have escaped our destructive hands.
The true scale of Michelangelo’s David
We had always imagined Michelangelo’s David to be roughly human-sized, so we were taken aback when we saw the image because the proportions were completely different from what we had envisioned.
The artist’s work stands 17.0 meters tall, and we can’t wait to see it in person. We’d probably have the same reaction as when we first saw the Mona Lisa in person, but in the opposite direction because it was much smaller than expected.
Drink water
This was a gentle reminder to drink plenty of water and strong encouragement to visit the toilet. However, as much as it made us want to walk, it led us to believe the image should be shopped somehow.
Although it appears to be a living tree, it is not sufficiently hydrated to explain why water is leaking out. It’s most likely a pipe, and while it was initially confusing, we now think it’s quite interesting.
