Can you believe that it’s been more than 20 years since Kenan and Kel smacked us with the hilarious Good Burger? Do you remember “Grape Nose Boy”? What about the all-time classic, “Welcome to Good Burger, home of the good burger, can I take your order?” This duo brought it all, including orange soda, reckless driving, Ed’s special sauce, and flexible pickles. So if this was one of the movies that defined your childhood, get excited because we might be looking at Good Burger 2.
Do You Remember Good Burger?
Shall we just cut to the chase? Teens work at small burger joint that can’t keep up with new competition across the road because their burgers are much bigger than theirs. Kenan and Kel discover that Mondo Burger, a massive burger emporium, is using a poisonous agent to enlarge their burgers. They bust the joint and everybody goes home happy… except for Kurt, he’s going to jail.
Who Was In It?
You might not remember, but there were some pretty awesome celebrity appearances in Good Burger. There was Shaquille O’Neal who made a regular hamburger look like it was the size of a breath mint. Sinbad appeared as an eccentric high school teacher whose afro meant more to him than his car. Who could forget Carmen Electra, or should we say “Roxanne”? We even had the honor of seeing Linda Cardellini as Linda, a psychopath in the mental institution Ed and Dexter got locked in. “Have small aliens ever landed in your head and told you to free all the kangaroos?” At least she had a cute head.
Moments That Made Us Say “What?”
Well, let’s see. Two teens get locked up in a mental institution. Two teens steal an ice-cream truck. One teenager runs a massive burger emporium and poisons burger patties to supersize them. Same teen gets his hands on shark poison. Teen bathes in strawberry milkshake machine. Yeah, exactly.
Our Best Ed Moments
Ed’s quirky and completely unpredictable personality had us all laughing whenever he opened his mouth. Here are some of our favorite moments, do you remember them?
1.) (Dexter) “Hey, you look familiar. Don’t I know you from somewhere?” (Ed) “Have you ever been to Australia?” (Dexter) “No.” (Ed) “Oh. Me Neither.”
2.) (Roxanne) “Can we just go somewhere and be alone.” (Ed) “What for?” (Roxanne) “Well maybe to talk, maybe get to know each-other a little better. Now doesn’t that sound like more fun than miniature golf?” (long pause while she looks at him with gorgeous, flirtatiously-inviting eyes) (Ed) “Nooooo!”
3.) (Angry customer) “I am reporting your name to the manager!” (Ed) “The manager already knows my name.”
Good Burger Sequel
Recently in an interview with Ed (Kel Mitchell, if you must), Buzzfeed asked him whether there’s likelihood of a Good Burger sequel. His exact words were, “The conversations have started. There’s something in the water; everything is coming back.” He added, “It will definitely be awesome. There was a meeting. They’re just working everything out contractually.” His finals words were, “Keep your ears to the streets.” Let’s all just keep our fingers crossed!
